How to Book an Appointment

Many appointments are wasted
because patients do NOT ring to cancel
or call too late for their appointments
to be offered to someone else.
Please help us by letting us know as
soon as possible if you cannot attend. |
If you have registered on our on-line
service, click here to book an appointment.
Routine doctor’s appointments
Appointments with the doctor are 10
minutes long and can usually be booked
up to 4 weeks in advance. If you have several
problems you wish to discuss, you may need to
book a double appointment to allow enough time -
please ask the receptionist when booking the
appointment. Most routine surgeries run between
8.30-11 am and 4-6 pm, however there are some
early afternoon surgeries between 2 – 4 pm. We
also provide extended hours appointments – see
below.
The receptionist will be able to advise you
of available times.

Urgent appointments
If you feel you have an urgent problem please
contact the surgery early and the reception
staff will arrange for you to be seen at the end
of that session. You will not always be able to
see the doctor of your choice as this is worked
by rotation and availability.
Routine nurse’s appointments
Appointments with the nurses are booked
according to reason, as many procedures take
longer than the usual 10 minute time slot.
Please help reception by specifying the reason
for your visit so that the correct amount of
time can be allotted.
Phlebotomist and Health Care Assistant
appointments
The HCA’s/Phlebotomist’s take all the blood
samples in the practice and are available each
day of the week. Bookings are morning and
afternoons as the samples need to be delivered
to Southmead Hospital for testing that day.
They can also deal with some health checks and
certain procedures, please ask our receptionists
who will be able to help and advise which member
of staff is the most suitable to book.
