Dr Gillian Callow

Dr Callow has been in general practice for
about 25yrs. Her interests are disease
prevention, gynaecology, family planning and
psychological medicine. She works with a local
counselling service and has had CBT (cognitive
behavioural therapy) training. She is married
with two sons at University and enjoys walking
and tennis.
Dr Elizabeth Farnall

Dr Farnall has been with the practice since
June 1987. Her main interests are Care of the
elderly, complex medical problems and also an
interest in dermatology.
She has three teenage daughters in the latter
stages of education.
Her main interests, out of work, are music,
singing, and walking in the hills and mountains
when time allows.

Dr Poland also has responsibility for looking
after a home for patients with dementia in
Brentry.
Dr Tom Smith

Dr Smith has lived, studied and worked in
Bristol since 1990. He has particular interests
in men’s health, paediatrics and cardiology. He
is the prescribing lead for the practice. He
spends his spare time with his children and his
bicycles.
Dr Karl Stainer

Dr Stainer completed both his undergraduate
and postgraduate GP training in Bristol. He
developed a particular interest in minor
surgical procedures following a year in
Queensland Australia in the early 1990s. He
provides a vasectomy service and performs minor
skin surgery at the practice. He has a long
standing interest in sports and exercise
medicine having studied at Loughborough
University prior to his medical degree. He
completed the Bath University post graduate
diploma in Sports and Exercise medicine in 2003.

Dr Claire Allen

Dr Allen has worked in the practice as a part
time salaried assistant for over 20 years. She
works 3 days per week including the Infant
welfare clinic and one Saturday morning per
month. She is married with three grown up
children and enjoys walking her 2 small
spaniels.
