PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP
What our patients told us
GP Patient Survey 2026 — results for Fallodon Way Medical Centre
About the survey
106 of our patients replied
36% response rate (England: 22%)
Jan–Apr 2026 — when patients were asked
July 2026 — results published
The survey is run independently by Ipsos for NHS England, so the practice doesn't choose who takes part. With around 100 replies, each figure could be 8–10 points higher or lower — look at the direction, not the exact number.

51% of those never or almost never get to see them* (England 16%)
Why it matters
Seeing someone who knows you makes the biggest difference for older patients and people with long-term conditions.
58% of the patients who replied told us they have a long-term condition.
*Only 17 patients answered this follow-up question, so treat the exact figure with caution — but the direction is clear.
WHERE WE CAN DO BETTER · 2
12% got an appointment the same day (England 27%)
38% waited one to two weeks (England 20%)
49% weren't offered a choice of time, day or place (England 37%)
80% still felt their wait was about right (England 69%)
Patients seem to accept a planned wait when the care is good — but we want urgent needs dealt with on the day, and everyone offered a real choice.
Other things we've noticed
Not red flags — patterns to keep an eye on. Some rest on small numbers of replies.
- Support with long-term conditions
31% with a long-term condition had a conversation about managing it (England: 43%), and fewer than half of those have an agreed plan.
- Helpfulness of the team
85% found the team helpful, the same as England — but 14% said "not very helpful" (England: 10%).
- When the practice is closed
Of 20 patients who needed care out of hours, 62% went to A&E (England: 23%). Small numbers, but NHS 111 and pharmacies could help more.
- Phones, website and the NHS App
69% still phone us, though online routes rate well. 16% found our website very difficult to use (England: 11%).
FOR DISCUSSION
Over to you
- Would having a named GP or small team make a difference to you?
- What would make our Website easier to Navigate? Can you easily find the Online Contact Form?
- How can we best spread the word about NHS 111 and local pharmacies?
