Our Appointment System
Appointments
Our Health Navigators are highly skilled and trained, and working closely with our clincal team as well as a widely used signposting software, means they are able to offer to right care for you with the most appropriate professional.
More than ever, there is a huge demand for appointments, and the NHS and Fallodon Way Medical Centre are reseaching and introducing new ways to cope and to meet our patient's needs.
In a lot of cases, it will not be necessary for you to see a GP. At Fallodon Way Medical Centre we can also offer you appointments with our Nurses, Mental Health Practitioner, Prescribing Pharmacists, Health Care Assistants, First Contact Physiotherpist or Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
Routine Appointments
We offer pre-bookable appointments with our practitioners which are either over the telephone or face-to-face.
Please be aware that our GP appointments are 10 minutes long and may only address one issue at a time. if you would like to discuss more than one issue, you will need yo schedule additional consultations.
The following appointments can be booked through the NHS App:
- Blood tests
- Annual reviews (e.g. diabetes, asthma)
- Flu vacciantions
- COVID vacciantions
- RSV vaccinations
- Shingles vaccinations

Urgent Appointments
There is an allocation of Urgent appointments released each day.
We can offer these appointments as telephone calls or face-to-face appointments based on your requirements.
Express GP Clinics
These are a 5 minute, single-issue-focused appointments.
Our Health Navigators will ask the reason for the appointment to ensure it can be handled safely within the limited time allocated.
Extended Hours
By offering extended hours appointments it means our patients have access to additional appointments outside of normal working hours.
We offer Nurse and HCA appointments until 7.30pm on Wednesdays and from 7:30am on Fridays.
We also offer Nurse and GP appointments on the third Saturday of each month between 9:00am and 1.00pm.
Chaperones
All patients may request a suitably tranined chaperone for any procedure, test or examination. Friends and family are not permitted to act as chaperones.
Please inform us as soon as possible so that appointment can be fofered to someone else.
Cancellations and Changes to your Appointment
If you cannot attend an appointment, please call our Reception team on 0117 962 4692.

Both male and female clinical team members work within the practice, if you have a preference, please ensure you discuss this when you book your appointment.
Your healthcare professional may also require a chaperone to be present for certain consultations in accordance with our Chaperone and Examination Policy.
